Once you’re in Hawaii, it’s simple and fast to get to and explore the other Hawaiian Islands. Multiple carriers (including Hawaiian Airlines and Mokulele Airlines) offer short flights between islands; in some cases, you may need to connect through Oahu to reach neighbor islands.

Flight times from Daniel K. Inouye (Honolulu) International Airport (HNL), Oahu to:
Lihue Airport (LIH), Kauai: 30 minutes
Kahului Airport (OGG), Maui: 30 minutes
Kapalua-West Maui Airport (JHM), Maui: 30 minutes
Molokai Airport (MKK), Molokai: 20 minutes
Lanai Airport (LNY), Lanai: 25 minutes
Hilo International Airport (ITO), island of Hawaii: 50 minutes
Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA), island of Hawaii: 45 minutes

Welcome to Oahu

Sometimes called “The Gathering Place,” Oahu certainly lives up to its name. The third largest Hawaiian island is home to the majority of Hawaii’s diverse population, a fusion of East and West cultures rooted in the values and traditions of the Native Hawaiian people. It’s this fundamental contrast between the ancient and the modern that makes discovering Oahu — from bustling city life to laidback surf towns — so enjoyable. You'll find plenty of different options for exploring Oahu's different regions, the island's many activities, its eclectic restaurants and accommodations

Welcome to Maui

Maui, known also as “The Valley Isle,” is the second largest Hawaiian island. The island beloved for its world-famous beaches, the sacred Iao Valley, views of migrating humpback whales (during winter months), farm-to-table cuisine and the magnificent sunrise and sunset from Haleakala. It’s not surprising Maui has been voted "Best Island in the U.S." by Condé Nast Traveler readers for more than 20 years. Check out the regions of Maui and all this island has to offer.

Welcome to the Island of Hawaii

The island of Hawaii is the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Nearly twice as big as all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined (hence, its nickname, “Big Island”), its sheer size is awe-inspiring. You can travel through all but four of the world's different climate zones here, ranging from Wet Tropical to Polar Tundra, a result of the shielding effect and elevations of the massive volcanoes Maunakea and Maunaloa. From the many geological features at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the lush valleys of the Hilo and Hamakua Coasts to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach, the island of Hawaii is an unrivaled expression of the power of nature. However you decide to experience the island, it is sure to leave you humbled!

Punta Cana Promise Debuts to Reaffirm Traveler Confidence

For the first time in the island’s history, a consortium of hotel ownership and management groups representing more than 50 properties and resorts in Punta Cana have come together to reaffirm their commitment to a set of security standards and safety guidelines in one of the top travel destinations in the Dominican Republic.

The eight-point Punta Cana Promise, as well as information about participating hotels, is detailed on puntacanapromise.com, which launched Tuesday, December 3.

The Punta Cana Promise points:

Each of the eight points seeks to answer specific questions and to reaffirm traveler confidence following recent media coverage of events on the island. While the policies outlined in the Punta Cana Promise are certainly not new to the hotels – the safety guidelines outlined above have been in place for years – the creation of the Promise marks the first time these hotels have worked together to create such a comprehensive resource in one easy-to-access format.

Says Encarna Piñero, President of Inverotel, “Speaking on behalf of our consortium of hotels, the Punta Cana Promise is our ongoing commitment to ensure that our guests will continue to receive the highest levels of service and security they have come to know and expect from us. The Punta Cana area has been home to our families and our properties for generations, and we are all focused on doing what it takes to reassure travelers that Punta Cana is and will remain a safe and wonderful vacation destination for generations to come.”

Participating hotels, all of which are listed on puntacanapromise.com, will proudly display the Punta Cana Promise seal on their properties and their websites indicating their participation and commitment to the Promise.
